Geotechnical Investigation, Detailed Design and Slope Stabilization Measure for Unstable Roadside Slope at Tulsi Bhanjyang, Siddhartha Highway, Nepal
Project: Geotechnical Investigation, Detailed Design and Slope Stabilization Measure for Unstable Roadside Slope at Tulsi Bhanjyang, Siddhartha Highway, Nepal
Client: Department of Roads
Year: 2025
Status: Completed
GEOINFRA was responsible for conducting a detailed geotechnical investigation and preparing slope stabilization designs for a vulnerable roadside slope section. The major tasks completed include:
- Desk study of existing data, maps, and previous investigation reports.
- Topographical survey of the slope with 150m uphill and 50m downhill coverage, with 1m contour intervals.
- General slope inspection, slope hazard assessment, geological and seismological studies.
- Risk level assessment and evaluation of subsurface conditions.
- Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) survey—150m horizontal and 240m vertical—to identify subsurface features and weak zones.
- Drilling of one confirmatory borehole up to 20m depth and conducting required field and laboratory tests.
- Interpretation of collected data and preparation of detailed slope stabilization design, including drawings and quantity estimates.
