Project: Special Inspection and Design of Maintenance/Repair Works for Daijee Bridge, Kanchanpur

GEOINFRA was engaged to carry out a special inspection and design intervention for the Daijee Bridge following signs of foundation settlement and clay boiling. The major tasks undertaken included:

• Review of historical geotechnical reports, hydrological data, and bridge design documents.
• Analysis of past settlement records, soil stratigraphy, and seasonal groundwater trends.
• Detailed field inspection and mapping of surface distress, deformation, and clay boiling zones.
• Drilling of three geotechnical boreholes with SPT and undisturbed sampling.
• Seismic Refraction Tomography (SRT) to identify subsurface weak zones.
• Laboratory testing to determine soil properties and shear strength parameters.
• Interpretation of geotechnical data to assess settlement mechanisms and liquefaction potential.
• Structural and geotechnical stability analysis of foundation elements under static and dynamic loads.
• Design of engineering solutions to mitigate foundation distress and enhance long-term bridge resilience.
